We have one month of school under our belts.  We are learning about subjects, predicates, compound subjects, and compound predicates in Reading. We are learning our multiplication tables in Math.   In Religion we are talking about God's creation, how much God loves us, and how we can show that love to others.  In Social Studies, we are learning about atlases, globes, maps, and how to read each.

Recently, we spent a day at the Y.M.C.A learning about healthy living.  Among other things the kids learned about portioning their food, reading labels, a balanced dinner plate, and making good choices when selecting food.   The kids got to take short classes in Zumba, karate, yoga, and tumbling.

Everybody had a good time!  Thanks to the Y.M.C.A. and Panhandle Public Health for inviting us!

A little about me -

I am a 1983 graduate of St. Agnes Academy. All seven of my siblings and my mother are also graduates of St. Agnes Academy. I am also a 1987 graduate of Chadron State College. I taught in rural schools and later substituted throughout the Alliance Public Schools, St. Agnes and the rural schools while still open.

I am married to J.J. Smith who co-coaches the St. Agnes Academy boy’s basketball team.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, bike riding, gardening and doing genealogy research.
